A binary opposition is a pair of related terms or concepts that are opposite in meaning.

In these two photographs I used binary opposition to confuse whoever looks at the photograph.

MISEEN SCENE:
  • Setting - I took this photograph in front of a white background to make it look plain and clean and without clutter to take the focus away from the model.
  • Costume - In this photograph the model was wearing school uniform.
  • Expression - The emotion that is brought out in this image is happiness.
  • Lighting - I used natural lighting when taking this photograph and I think natural lighting always beats artificial lighting.
  • Props - No props were used when taking this photo, However i think that if i did choose to add a prop, it would've added some originality to the photo

MISE EN SCENE:
  • Settings - This photograph was also taken in front of a white background again to keep the focus on the model.
  • Costume - The costume worn in this photograph is not visible but the moel was wearing her school uniform.
  • Expressions and mood - The mood is very low in this particular photo. By taking a short glance at the photograph it triggers sincerity in you because of how down the model appears to be. I achieved my target because my intention was to capture the model looking sad.
  • Lighting - I believe that natural lighting works better, so that is what i used.
  • Props - No props were needed for this photograph.

MISE EN SCENE
  • Settings - I tried to add an element of Andy Gotts' photogrpahy skills/prefernces which is why i took this photo in fornt of a white backround.
  • Costume - While this photograph was being taken, the model was wearing school unfirom also.
  • Expressions and mood - The mood of this photo is joy, as you can see by the expression the modle is making she looks very happy.
  • Lighting - Natural lighting.
  • Props - No props used but maybe props could've been used to show the model' source of happiness.
